Tile Slim and Pebblebee are closer to 2.4mm, which starts to feel noticeable in a slim wallet. If you carry a bifold with 6+ cards already, thickness matters more than most people expect.

Spotminders, Ridge, and Nomad have no subscription. Tile locks most of its useful features — like location history and smart alerts — behind a paid plan ($29.99/year per tracker). Over two years, that adds $60 to the cost of a tracker that already costs $35.

Spotminders uses Apple's Find My network — over 1 billion active Apple devices worldwide. Any iPhone that passes within range of your tracker anonymously updates its location. Pebblebee uses Google's network, which is smaller. Tile uses its own proprietary network, which is the smallest of the three.

Spotminders claims 8 months per charge — in testing, it hit 7 months with daily use. Ridge is rated at 5 months. Nomad is similar. Tile's non-replaceable battery is rated at 3 years, but once it dies, you replace the whole device. Pebblebee is rechargeable but users report needing to charge every 2–3 months in practice.

None of the trackers we tested use magnets strong enough to wipe card data. Spotminders specifically tested for card interference and found no issues across 60+ card types. Hotel key cards are RFID-based and can occasionally be affected by proximity to other RFID cards — but this is a wallet design issue, not a tracker issue.
